Comenius 2010-2012

The Project

An apple a day keeps the doctor away – a European project on healthy food and an active lifestyle An apple a day keeps the doctor away – a Comenius project (lifelong learning programme initiated by the European Union) on healthy food and an active lifestyle is being realized by five European schools. The students and their teachers from Castelldefels (Spain), Izmir (Turkey), Isle sur Sorgue (France) , Buseck (Germany) and Jaworzno (Poland) are working on different topics concerning healthy food, sports and activities, cooking a healthy menu, growing fruits and vegetables. A survey on eating habits and sports will show the different ways of leading a healthy life.

The students search the Internet trying to find information on healthy diets, the role of food in art, literature and the media. The students work at their local schools on different tasks given in a certain period of time. During the meetings, which take place in the course of two years (2010 – 2012) at each of the participating schools, the students present their results by giving Powerpoint presentations, showing films or just doing activities like organising a fruit festival, different sports activities or preparing an international menu. The common aim of the project is the development of a deeper awareness concerning a healthy lifestyle.
